Religious Services Service
Calvary Baptist Tabernacle is a long-standing independent Baptist church and ministry complex located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Founded in 1980 by Pastor James “Johnny” Daniels, it has grown into a multilingual, multigenerational congregation recognized for its educational and missionary outreach across the Caribbean and beyond. The church’s guiding mission is expressed as “Love God, Love People, Serve the World.”
Calvary Baptist Tabernacle operates multiple branches of ministry, including the Calvary Baptist Christian School (established 1983) and Calvary Baptist Bible College (founded 1986). These educational arms focus on Christ-centered instruction that integrates academic excellence with biblical principles. The church also supports local and international missions and provides bilingual worship services in English and Spanish, with ASL interpretation available.
Services emphasize traditional worship, clear biblical teaching, and inclusive community engagement. Regular gatherings include Sunday morning and afternoon services and a Thursday evening service, all featuring simultaneous translation. Members describe the atmosphere as welcoming, family-oriented, and focused on spiritual growth through Scripture and fellowship.
Dr. James “Johnny” Daniels remains the founding pastor, while Pastor Billy White serves as Senior Pastor, having joined the staff in 1989 and assuming senior leadership in 2019. Pastor Johnny Daniels leads the Spanish ministry. Their collective vision continues to guide the church’s educational and missionary programs.
Calvary Baptist Tabernacle is known for its bilingual ministry and consistent adherence to the King James Version and Reina Valera 1960 Bibles. Over four decades of service have made it a regional hub for Christian education and cross-cultural discipleship in Puerto Rico.
