The Church of God of Prophecy in Blue Hills, Turks and Caicos Islands, is a long-established Pentecostal congregation known locally as the “Jumper Church.” It serves as a central hub of worship and community life on Providenciales and has played a pivotal role in the spread of Pentecostalism throughout the islands.
The Blue Hills ministry of the Church of God of Prophecy began in 1961 as a mission under the leadership of Bishop James Calvin Williams. Officially dedicated in 1969, it became the first permanent congregation of the denomination on Providenciales. The church has since earned the title “Mother Church” of the movement in the Turks and Caicos Islands for nurturing many of the nation’s spiritual leaders.
Currently led by Bishop Andrew A. Stone, who has served as senior pastor since 2001, the church also benefits from associate pastors and ministry leaders overseeing youth, women’s, and evangelism programs. Bishop Stone additionally serves as National Overseer of the denomination across Turks and Caicos, which now includes 15 local assemblies and over 800 members.
The congregation follows Pentecostal doctrines emphasizing salvation through faith, the power of the Holy Spirit, and active evangelism. It remains a beacon of faith and service within the Blue Hills community, hosting regular worship, outreach, and educational initiatives that reflect its nearly century-long mission in the islands.
