Kingstown Baptist Church is a Christian congregation located in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Known locally as KBC, it serves as a central hub of Baptist worship and community outreach in the nation’s capital. The church emphasizes inclusive ministry, active evangelism, and practical discipleship under its guiding vision of being “Church Beyond the Walls.”
The church traces its origins to 1977, when Reverend Don Overstreet and his wife Marti, missionaries from the United States, founded the St. Vincent Baptist Chapel in Old Montrose. It was later renamed Kingstown Baptist Church after relocating near the Botanical Gardens. Over the decades, the church grew into one of the most influential Baptist congregations in the country, fostering both local leadership and a broader Baptist convention network.
KBC’s mission is to demonstrate God’s unconditional love and help people “exchange ordinary living for an extraordinary life” through faith in Jesus Christ. The church focuses on four core purposes: exalting God, encouraging spiritual maturity, equipping believers for ministry, and evangelizing the world.
KBC maintains numerous ministries, including music, youth programs, small groups, prison ministry, and the AWANA Club for children. In recent years, it has emphasized small group fellowships and national outreach, aiming to extend its spiritual and social impact beyond its own membership.
Kingstown Baptist Church is situated along the Largo Height road near Old Montrose, Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It welcomes individuals from all walks of life to participate in worship, fellowship, and service.
