Religious Services Service
St. George’s Baptist Church in Grenada is a long-established Christian congregation serving the island’s capital and surrounding communities. It forms part of a network of Baptist churches in Grenada and is known for its active outreach, discipleship programs, and community service.
The church originated in 1975 when missionaries from the Southern Baptist Convention arrived in Grenada following a radio ministry that inspired local interest. Early gatherings were held near Tyrrel Street before moving to its current site in the Springs/Belmont area. Over the years, several pastors—including Osbert James, Royston Isaac, and Stanford Simon—guided its growth. The congregation later launched the Grand Anse Baptist Church to meet expanding needs.
St. George’s Baptist Church promotes the mission of “building communities that become the model for winning people to Christ.” Its vision emphasizes empowerment, spiritual prosperity, and fulfillment in life through faith. The church aims to create vibrant, Christ-centered communities that embody love, unity, and service across Grenada and beyond.
The church runs programs focused on discipleship, youth engagement, servant leadership, and evangelistic outreach. A hallmark initiative, “The Discipleship Hour,” offers structured Bible study and leadership training. Regular worship services, livestreams, and community events foster connection and growth among members.
Today, St. George’s Baptist Church continues to play a central role in Grenada’s religious life, inspiring its congregation to serve with compassion and to strengthen families and neighborhoods through faith-based initiatives.
